Does the beer have to be so expensive? Isnt the tax less if the brewer makes and sells the beer? Do they actually make beer at this location anyway? I know before Goose Island got a hold of it this place was known as Wheegmans park or whatever and the beer really was good made by an Australian dude who really knew what he was doing. Take it from a beer drinking veteran, Goose Island is a nothing beer, and this is a yuppy, metrosexual cubby fan loser hang out and should be avoided unless you want to hit one .

While in wrigleyville for cubs games we ate and had both honkers and a ipa at their brewpub . the service was great and it appears that the customer comes first .The server knew what the style of the beer was and our burgers were cooked as requested . We will be back again on 06 .

In response to the review below, while Goose Island may not be the finest example of an American beer your condemnation of American beer, especially with the use of such mediocre beers as Heineken (I have had Heineken from the brewery in Amsterdam and it still couldn’t hold a candle to some of the fine brews produced by the good people at Bell’s and Dogfish Head) and Bitburger as supporting evidence, was truly upsetting. While most European countries excel in making a variety of beers most notably Belgian malt beers, German Lager beers, and Irish/British Stouts to name a few. Many of these same style brews have been brewed equal to if not better than many of their western counterparts. This is apparent when trying the hoppier brews, beers that generally exceed 80 IBU’s, especially when sampling those brews that use the Northwest Pacific Hops. If you truly wish to educate yourself in regards to American hop beers while also trying some amazing brews you might try any of the following products:

Dogfish Head 60, 90, & 120 Min. IPA Bell's Two Hearted Ale Bear Republic Racer 5 IPA Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale Sierra Nevada Celebration Barley wine Victory's Hop Devil Mad Hatter IPA

The beer I feel is overrated, as is all American beer. Let me know when Goose Island makes a beer with less water, better hops and better bottling / packaging. Integrity is a staple of beermakers (i.e. Heineken, Bitburger), and the integrity of the beer should not be sacrificed for the sake of profit. The beer is what makes Goose Island known in Chicago, but it isn't as great as many of the locals say, and I'm a native...
