Not a bad place... food is a bit pricey for what they offer and the staff aren't always the most accomodating, but if you want a place to have some decent coffee and read on a beaten in thrift store couch, this is your place.

Non-smoking section is a joke! And I ordered a greek wrap to go that was supposed to have chicken on it and dressing, and it had neither, so I basically was stuck with a tortilla with lettuce in it. Also service was really slow and staff did not seem too concerned to be making me wait 20 minutes for a sandwich.

Gourmand is one of the only places of its kind in the South Loop area. The food is pretty good but the drinks aren't consistent and the staff ranges in emotion from bored to put-out at having a job to do to just plain rude. It would be great if re-staffed and they had a recipe they follow for every drink every time. Very hot inside during summer months!

Excellent place. If you like a low-key, university-town vibe, this is easily the coolest place anywhere near the Loop, and one of the best hang-out spots in the Midwest.

Nice local spot in a great neighbor. For breakfast, the pankcakes are quite good.
