I used to eat aurelios pizza alot. I live by the original one in homewood, but there really inconsistent. Ocasionally there excellent. More often than not there is WAY TO MUCH cheese. I've even asked for the old oven(if you ever had it you know what I'm talkin about) and not gotten it. When its good its REAL good. Its also the most expensive around and not worth the gamble

We discovered Aurelio's when we moved to the Homewood area in 1960 and have not found anything comparable (as good), When I think of Chicago Pizza I think Aurelios, not Uno's. It's the best. Now we have to drive 150 miles to enjoy and we do.

My last experience in dine in in homewood was frustrating in several minor ways that started to add up quickly. First of all they dont tell you how much pop costs on the menu. I HATE IT when restaraunts play that pop game. I payed $4 for a pitcher of diet. Then after they turned down two types of coupons(the box tops and the entertainment book type) the somewhat snobby waiter told me that they wouldn't do a topping in 1/3 rds(only 1/4 and 1/2). And to top that all off someone had thrown up in the bathroom sink!!!!

By far the best pizza on the planet with Homewood as the center of the pizza universe. However if you visit the franchise, in Parker,CO for example, expect a drop off in quality but still better than most.

I grew up in the south Chicago suburbs and used to go to the Original Aurelio's in Homewood. Without a doubt, Aurilio's is the best pizza on the planet. I live in Texas now and have been ordering Aurilio's Fedex pizza for some time. Have not found any pizza here that comes close. Please open an Aurilio's restaurant in Ft.Worth. I will work there for free.

It has been 7 years since I last ate at Aurelio's, when I visited Chicago for a week on a business trip and tried Chicago pizza for the first time. And still today, I talk about about and crave for Aurelio's pizzas. I live on them for a full week. Ever since, I have eaten Chicago style pizza in many parts of the country, but nothing comes close. The quality and shape of the crust, the way the pizza is prepared, the presentation, the ingredients, and above all, the flavor...I have not seen again anywhere else I ask for Chicago style pizza. What's with Aurelio's that other places have not been able to imitate?..very disappointing...I learned now that Aurelio's ships pizza out to customers around the country. God bless them. I know now what I will be eating while watching the Super Bowl this year...
