Is Hashalom the best deal in Chicago? It certainly is! And the best kept secret. If Check Please ever does a show on them we will never get a seat. But no worry they only profile trendy overpriced places that serve perceived tastes. Nothing real. And certainly nothing as good or cheap as Hashalom. I eat at Hashalom so much that I don't want anyone else to go there. I want to keep it my own place. Honestly I eat there every occasion I get. In fact I stopped cooking at home. With prices like these I can't compete. My favorite is the ability to eat vegan or vegetarian and better than my carnivore companions. A list of my favorites would be too long but dishes not to miss are: Soup (morroccan vegetable, bean, and split pea are three of my favorites) Cigars, combination plate, Borekas, cornish hen, and of course the falafel sandwich, which is underpriced.
