house of blues is awesome in my opinion. no, they wont just grab you and kick you out. ive never seen it happen. now fighting and underaged drinking, an smokin weed, yes they will boot you QUICK. and BE CAREFUL, if someone comes up asking you to buy them a drink( liek someone who looks underage or doesnt have a wristband) no matter how bad you feel, DONT BUY THEM A DRINK!!!! H.O.B has people walking around undercover to catch things like that. ive been going to the one in vegas for years and i love it, everyones usually cool, the most recent concert being badfish this past weekend. they have music playing over the the pa when in between bands. and a little song by the name of boheimen rapsody came on, the entire place was singing it, kinda cool little tidbit.

There's a lot to like about HOB. The whole place is pretty close to the show, it gets crowded but I think it's manageable - might be tough if you're short. the sound is good, it's clean and the staff are good. Overall good venue to see a show, but they water down the drinks ridiculously. After 5 - $10 gin and tonics I didn't even have a buzz. Stick with the beer and you should do fine.

Don't listen to these other reviews. The House of Blues NEVER over-sells shows. It's against the law. They only sell as many tickets as each venue can hold. Most of these reviewers probably never go to shows and don't know that concerts have a lot of people. They have strict security to keep you and everyone else SAFE. They don't pull you out for no reason. If bands don't come out for a meet and greet, don't blame the venue. Blame the band. 9 times out of 10 band members act like they care but if it becomes a slight burden they ignore their fans.

I went to see GWAR last night, and I ended up wandering around Chicago for 3 Hours. Security grabbed me and told me to come with them, and I resisted out of fear. I hadn't fought, or even argued with anyone there, I was just standing there peacefully and they grabbed me. I thought they were going to mug me, or beat me up in the back room or something. So I was kicked out with no chance of returning, before I actually had the chance to enter the show. They never said anything to me, except go with them, no reasons. I will never ever go back, even if was my favorite band for free. Later that night, my friends were telling me is was because my eyes were red. Does that give somebody a reason to grab you? I hope the pompus dicks all get killed one night by a crazy attendant.

I went to the House of Blues gospel brunch last Sunday and I have to say it was a great experience. There was great food and it was refilled promptly and was always hot. The wait staff was polite and eager to help or answer questions. We all sat around large tables and ate "family style" while watching the gospel choir perform. Their voices were amazing, and the sound quality in the House of Blues was even better. I would definitley go back and would recommend going to this show.

My friends and I had the best time at the House of Blues this past week. We saw the Corey Smith concert and everything went so smoothly and perfect. The venue was welcoming and clean, along with the staff being friendly and inviting. My friends and I cannot wait to come back for another visit in the near future.

The one thing that made me loathe this venue entirely was the fact that, they said there was a meet and greet with Nightwish at the end, but were to hung up in their late night costume party to make sure everyone knew about it. Don't get me wrong, I do like costume parties, but I like Nightwish just a little bit more than that. The story we got from the Manager that they didn't come out was that "they had stayed 45min later than scheduled, and when they came all the way back over here and saw how few people stuck around, got angry and left." Which, from my following of Nightwish, doesn't sound like something Tuomas, or anyone else from the band would do to their fans. That being said, even though it might not be true, I came to the conclusion that HOB gave a time limit to Nightwish, and rushed them out when it was met. If that's true, then that was very unprofessional seeing as it's Nightwish's first full fledged North American tour. The concert was worth the stupidity and annoyances we went through to see it, but that last thing just angered me, and I'll be complaining about it on some Nightwish websites too, just in case it WAS Nightwish that decided not to do the meet and greet, and let them know that we were disappointed. The ONLY way I'll go back to HOB: Chicago is for that band though. The only way, otherwise I'd rather avoid that place as if it were the plague, and I suggest others do as well.

I went to the House of Blues Chicago yesterday (10/27/07) for the Nightwish/Paradise Lost concert. I had paid the extra money to get VIP tickets, and when I entered the building, I promptly asked a staff member how the VIP tickets were working. I had already known how it worked having done my research, but I had also wanted to make sure now that I was there. Everyone we asked didn't know how it worked, and when I explained it they looked extremely confused, until one person from the box office looked on their computer and pretty much told us what we already knew with a little extra info. That was strike one against them, make sure your employees know whats going on for a show so that they all may be able to answer questions, even if vaguely. But I could get past that one. The second strike was the rule that you can't leave the event area and come back. Again, it didn't make me happy, but I could live with it. (continued next review)

I had the misfortune to go to the overcrowed oversold House of Blues in Cleveland.

My employer asked me what I wanted for a Christmas Bonus and I was stupid enough to ask for House of Blues tickets.

The place was so packed the minute you reached the bottom steps of the entrance you were met by a sold packed room of people.

I could not see the stage, I was pushed shoved by the crowd and then VERY RUDELY treated by House of Blues Management.

I would never go to another House of Blues for any concert again, even for free.

I went there for the February 13th Dir en grey concert. The place seemed a little overcrowded, but being such a small venue, I stood towards the back and still had a great view of the band. If you're a person who likes to be in the crowd, prepare to be uncomfortable. At least the security will pull you out if you pass out...
