Seriously -- if you look way down the list, I began going to Bacchus a few years back and have seriously NEVER had a bad meal there. We did go one time on a holiday -- New Year's Eve -- and were disappointed by the very limited menu offered on the holiday and the less than ideal table that was provided. Reading through these reviews, I think the warning might be, "Don't go there on a holiday." But if you are just looking for a place to have a really nice meal, in a cozy atmosphere, on a normal day, at relatively reasonable prices, you can't beat it.

I can't understand all the bad reviews. I have been eating at Bacchus Nibbles for over 12 years and have never had a bad experience (including one Valentine's Day.) The food is unique, service friendly and atmosphere interesting.

Not good for take out. On New Year's Eve 2007 we decided to try Baccus out on recommondations of others. Our order was complete but terrible. My husband had the Crispy Duck, very greasy and the vege's were terrible, rubbery and bland. I have the Veal, it was worse. First, it came in a perfect rectangle shape (had no idea veal came that way unless it was formed before being frozen, the edges were burnt (literally black) and the center was still frozen; the wine/cream sauce was literally cream with wine added, not cooked down and very runny; and both my and my husbands pototes came in a shape of an ice cream scoop, and ice cold in the center. We called to talk to someone and was not treated very well and told no refund would be given becasue it was New Year's Eve, they were too busy and the owner was away celebrating his birthday. We didn't eat any of our meal and offerd to bring it back so they could see what we were talking about. But instead were told if we didn't like the food, don't come back. Not much for a local family restaurant. And don't worry, per your request WE WON'T BE BACK!

Bacchus Nibbles is a good place for informal dining. Mind you, it is much more than a family restaurant. More suitable for couples and adult groups. It is an upscale bar and restaurant with a French bistro-style charm. Food and wine are both quite good. Suitable for birhday and anniversary celebrations, as well as a casual stop for a drink and food.

We were seated by one person, order taken by another, brought out to the table by yet another,

That's called a front waiter back waiter system. All nice restaurants use the same system.

Bacchus is amazing. I love the food, love the atmosphere, love the staff, and love the wine. I would encourage you to try it out!!

When the check finally came, they actually charged me for a steak that I had to wait 3 hours for, and had to send back 3 times. I asked the waiter to have the owner come over, again, and asked him what the deal was. "Well you ate the steak right??" He says, "Yes, after sending it back three times!!!" I don't think that you should have to pay for something like that. The owner starts getting in my face telling me I'm insulting him and trying to rip him off!! Couldn't believe it. After a long, embarrassing argument, I told him I was not paying for the steak, will NEVER be here again, and we left. Sorry for the long-winded story, but just wanted to relay how HORRIBLE this restaurant is. DO NOT GO HERE!! For an owner of a supposedly up-scale restaurant to get in my face over a $16 dollar steak, amazing.... Horrible service, even worse ownership. BAD RESTURANT, DO NOT EAT HERE.

Worst dining experience EVER!! Went here last night (Valentine's Day) for dinner. Was told on the phone that they don't take reservations on V-Day, but the wait should only be 15 minutes or so.... 50 minutes later, we were finally seated. Took another 20 minutes or so for an actual waiter to come and take our drink orders. After another 20 minutes or so, the waiter came back to tell us our wine selection was out. Took our dinner order, and took another probably 30 minutes or so to bring our second selection of wine. It took almost an hour for our dinner to come, which in that time we never once saw our waiter, we had to flag down another waiter to have them tell ours to stop by. He gave us an excuse that the cooks were "F'ing with him all night!!" Yes, those were his actual words, and that the cooks were losing his orders. When he did come back 15 minutes later, our food was cold. I asked him to bring both dishes back and have them re-made, At this point I asked the owner to come over to the table. He was very upset that we were having such a bad experience and offered us a couple glasses of wine on the house. Well, when the food came back, it was our original food, charred to hockey puck status. Pulled the waiter back again, and the owner, and told them the situation, again... they fixed it and after 3 hours we finally ate out dinner. Continued on the next review....

Bacchus Nibbles is our new favorite place. Contrary to the mother's day fiasco noted by another reviewer, we have been there twice and had excellent service and excellent food both times. I have thoroughly enjoyed both the salmon and the coq au vin (which was actually rather extraordinary). The prices are far lower than the one reviewer notes--the coq au vin is about $10, and the salmon about $15. The wine list is reasonably priced and those we have tried were excellent.
