The food is nothing special..same goes for their drinks. The service is by far the worst I've ever had, even for a chinese restaurant. The cashier yelled at me because I didn't know there was a minimum for credit card..even though I had cash anyway. Never going back. Especially after getting a nice side of cockroach in my fried rice.

This place is great! It is even better than the one in China Town. Big plates and low prices.

We love Joy Yees!! The food is great, made fast and accurate, plus the on-line ordering is very cool. The food arrives fast and the entrée's are large enough for two people to share most of the time. I have never been disapointed with the service or the food. Just try to "eat in" on a weekend and you will know how popular it is (for a reason).

You have to expect subpar food when the menu selection is that huge and unfocused, but I'm not in love with Joy Yee's for that reason. You just have to love their bubble shakes/tea! The tapioca here is the best I've ever tasted. They're soft on the outside and chewy on the inside and always fresh. Also, don't go to the Chinatown Joy Yee's. Although the boba is still good, the drinks are watered down. Bleh.

I REALLY liked Joy Yee's Noodles. The food was GREAT. My bowl of Korean udon was a bit too large to eat, I managed about half. Given the mass quantities of food the prices are really good to.

I have gone twice, both times with great service. Some of the other complaints on this list are features I like. Chicken that is a little pick is way better then the twice cooked stuff you get most places. My udon had an egg in it that may have started out raw. It was at the bottom of the bowl, and was almost over cooked when I found it.

I don’t think one can speak Chinese without yelling. My wife is Chinese, and her whole family yells ALL THE TIME. Lucky it’s a tonal language or they would all loose their voices.

Joy Yee is great! While at the U of Chicago I used to frequent the Chinatown location but now live on the North Side. I truly enjoy this place! I especially recommend the Singapore Rice Noodles, they are excellent. The only critique I would have to offer is that the service is horrible and that you have to wait a while before getting a table. But, depending on the day, it's worth it.

The freezes are good but shouldn't be called bubble tea because it has no tea! The actual milk tea drinks are awful. liquid fusion in Nortbrook makes it right!
