La Bocca is one of those places you either get or you don't. Unlike other places that are constantly reinventing themselves to accommodate the standards of arm chair quarterbacks, La Bocca created a concept and have stayed true to it for close to 2 decades. The style is Roman, and any real Roman will be quick to tell you that they are different from "Italians". If you're looking for honest quality ingredients and simple flavors, La Bocca will satisfy you. If you're looking for the trendy, keep moving!

I remember La Bocca when it was first opened. One or two rooms, friendly wait staff, creative enviorment, wonderful food. Almost 17 years later, the place has expanded, with still a beautiful enviorment, friendly staff, and some different food but still the original favorites. I will continue to recommend La Bocca for years to come.

I have eaten at many Italian restaurants in the states and in Italy. The food rivals anywhere I have eaten. I would highly recommend La Bocca Della Verita and will go back again.

Our small group of ten had a fabulous time at La Bocca della Verita on New Year's Day. Their bread was served warm and was a delicious way to start the evening. The food was fabulous, especially the duck ravioli and the baby octopus. The wait staff was attentive and friendly with everyone at the table. We all be going back in the coming year.

I don't know where Teddy (sse below) was on Valentines Day, but Osso Bucco was NOT on the menu that night! I know this because we were there, and we had a FABULOUS meal. Yes, the place was crowded and noisy, but, after all, it is a trattoria - not some dark "romantic" joint where you can't see what's on the plate! No - they won't fawn over you or cut up your meat, but they will serve you an honest to goodness Italian meal with a smile- if you smile back!

I tried this restaurant once before when it was relatively new. It was OK and showed some promise, so my girlfriend and I went back for last Valentine's Day. What a mistake! The food (osso bucco) was a total culinary disaster, probably cooked by the chef's neighbor and the waiter could at least get one smiling lesson, before being hired. Never again! The restaurant business is not for amateurs!
