La Creperie is a place for romance, great ambience and killer french food. I was so thrilled to have come upon this restaurant back in 2000, and have the opportunity to work with the Roignants. The food is like no other...so there is no point in comparing.....it is one of my favorites and I will always remember and keep it as one of my top Chicago restaurants....

In response to Ken from 1/23/2006, Ken get your facts straight, I am close friends with the family that owns this restaraunt. The owner Germain and his wife Sarah (RIP) who ran the restareunt up until her death, have not sold the business. No one there fakes a french accent and Germain who does visit his family back home in France on occasion stills is a vital part of ths business with his son Jeremy. My wife attended college with his daughter who is a personal good friend of her and I. Why don't you stop by on Thursdays and visit with the owner and repeat verbatum what you wrote in your review. He plays trumpet that night to entertain the patrons. The bottom line is Ken get your facts straight!!!

Don't go here. I used to come here years ago when it was authentic and well priced. It has since been sold to a new owner and the original owner is back in France. In sum: the food is terrible, they use canned mushrooms and cream of chicken in one crepe and frozen spinach in another. Presentation was like fast food, a sprig of parlesy if you're lucky. At a price of $12 a crepe, it's ridiculous. The wait staff is headed by a young American who fakes a French acent (he was insulted when I spoke to him in French and couldn't reply) and the kitchen staff is skilless. How insulting. This place is NOT what it once was. I give it zero stars.

What a wonderful romantic spot. The service is great and the atmosphere and food even better. A must try!

Hi, I was a cook-preparor at La Creperie until 1981. It was my first job and I'll never forget it. It is a very unique place to eat and work (in my case) at. I'm glad it's still alive and kikin'. Hi, viejo! remember el "Baby". I remember you, and will never forget you all.

I think La Creperie is a great place to go because you can go and talk and relax. Their food is made like it was made from the heavens. Their salad is great and their desserts are awesome! My favorite dessert is the banana and chocolate crepe. It is the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello I am looking to start a creperie, but are having trouble finding what kind of crepes machines would fit our needs. Do you know which brand we should be looking for? I would appreciate any information you can offer to help us. Thanks!

Just love La Creperie! Have taken my daughters there for years. Not only is the food delicious - the atmoshpere is indeed bohemian! Winter - definitely warm & cozy. Summer - in the front room - like a sidewalk cafe'. Back garden area also nice! Special treat: owner might play his trumpet for you on a special occasion if you ask nicely!
