One of the very best Italian places in the city. Every dish has been great each time I have gone. Get there early or make a res. Great experience.

Went with a party of 18 on a saturday night. Food was very good and on the high end of the value chain considering prices were not too crazy. Interesting mix of people from around the hood and all over town.
Service was a bit off for a party as large as ours, we expected a bit more attention, but overalll a great dining experience.
There is no space to wait other than outside, so I suggest if you have to wait awhile, head next door to Richard's pub (divy) or Emmitt's (irish) to grab a drink and wait.

Always a tasty treat, La Scarola serves up some pretty fantastic grub. They have scampies bigger than a baby's forearm. yum... en route right now!

Had breakfast from the corner bakery and it sucked. Waited over 10 mins. for my order only to find that when i got back to the office,,,yep, they got the order wrong. No bacon, no cheddar and the eggs that they made were aweful. They were runny, watery, there was really liquid in the container with the eggs, so gross, and the portion that they give for what you pay for is so skimpy. I thought it must have come from the Taste of Chicago, thank goodness they didn't screw up anymore and ruin the toast. I will never go back there again.

We just returned from a wonderful visit to Chicago and this was one of the restaurants we dined at. It was wonderful. We had a large group and no one ordered the same thing and there were no complaints. Atmosphere is great, like eating with a real Italian family, noisy, lively and fun! Great wine list. Deserts to die for so take a doggie bag and have that desert.
