ITS A CHICAGO THING , LEONS IS LEONS BECAUSE OF THE SINGULAR FLAVOR, COLOR, AND TEXTURE OF ITS SAUCE, AND BECAUSE IT PILES THE FRIES AND SLICES BREAD ON TOP OF THE CHICKEN AND DRENCHED IN ITS SAUCE, ITS THE PURE, UNADULTERATED BOMB!!

I was just in Leons on 62nd & cottage, the food wasn't what I remembered it to be. It was awful. The fries was burnt, the sauce was watery with no taste and the rib tips didn't taste like it was ever on a pit and the meat was tough. What happen to Leon's ?

Leons is fire. I currently live in Omaha, NE and these people don't know nothing about good food let alone good bar b q. I talk about Harolds and Leons all the time, cuz I have to brag about it !!!

Leon's chicken is the best. Late nights, the flavor of Leon's sauce comes back to me like a dream. The first time I ordered Leon's, the whole smothered chicken and fries thing freaked me out. But then I got addicted.

Since I don't live in Chicago anymore, I haven't had Leon's in over five years, but I still remember it fondly, when they would deliver to Hyde Park from their second Cotage Grove store, which is gone now.

The mild sauce is uninspiring (which is probably where the ketchup comment comes from), but the hot sauce is to die for.

I just moved from Dallas, TX to Chicago a month ago. BBQ is a big thing in Texas, it's one of the things were really known for. That's probably why I was so disappointed. The sauce at Leon's tasted liked ketchup, and if you don't ask for your food to be separated they throw your chicken wings sauce and fries all on top of each other. If this is how cooking is here Chicago, I will continue to be home sick.
