Eh. The centerstage review is nonsense. Barbara's bookstore is a barren land of no-books. Or at least, no interesting books. Sure its independent, but its selection is horrible. The shelves are half empty, space taken up with volumes cover-out instead of spine-out, rather than with more than one or two books by any particular author. It has nothing rare, or unusual. "Thinking" people go to used book stores, or Hyde Park. They don't go to barbaras.

I really enjoyed seeing and meeting the author Nelly Rosario at Barbara's Bookstore! Ms. Rosario had a lot to say about being Dominican and African-American. She has written her first novel and already it is up for an Hurston Award!
