When I was a little girl my father used to work at the Government building downtown, and would take me to Luke's often. Just thinking of that restaurant makes my mouth water. I remember him eating the Italian Beef (juice dripping) and he would say "Darlin', it does it get any better than this." It has been almost two decades. Now, I have grown up and traveled the world... and I can honestly say he was right.

When I worked downtown a few years back I used to enjoy their wonderful beef sandwiches. But I must confess that my favorite at Luke's was their meatball sandwich.

It's been over 30 years that I moved from the windy city to Hollister Ca. I want to open a beef stand that sell's Luke's beef here in Hollister Ca. There is no place like home for a real Italian Beef But soon there will be a beef stand here from the windy city style. Thank You Hollister Ca.

I've been checking this site occassionally and plan to start a web page for sharing Italian Beef recipes. I've been working around the corner from Luke's for over two years now. Its the best Italian beef I've had in Chicago. The bread,meat,and peppers are all just right. It is served very fast so you don't salivate for long.
