Hands down, this is my favorite Mexican restaurant. I go with my husband and group of friends nearly every week. The wait staff are wonderful, and the food and margaritas are the best. Try the new addition to the drink menu, the "Grande Margarita"- which is 42 ounces of frozen goodness. Also, I recommend straying from the "typical" Mexican-restaurant fare- the seafood choices and steak here are amazing.

My friend turned me on to Mi Tierra a few years back, and naturally, I brought tons of friends and family members there. It used to be the place we went to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, etc. But NOT ANYMORE! The food has become bland, the Margaritas are clearly made from a mix, and the staff clearly doesn't care if you have chewing gum in a napkin in your basket of chips or if your glass has a crack in it. None of my friends or family members will ever go there again!

This restaurant is the BEST. By far the best margaritas- meaning they actually are NOT pre-mixed... and have alchohol in them. They have many flavors- and you can add a shot on the side for $1.50 more. NO OTHER PLACE COMPARES- NOT CESAR'S NOT UNCLE JULIOS NOT EL JARDIN- NO ONE. The food is good as well. This is the place to go if you are really looking for a real hard hitting- great tasting margarita. Don't waste time on a glass of sweet sugary mixes with a drop of well tequila.

Simply the best Mexican restaurant in the City of Chicago (or anywhere for that matter). The chips and salsa are to die for and the margaritas are unmatched in taste and effect. The best place to take a date as the prices are reasonable and the food is outstanding. Grade A+ p.s. I cannot fathom the other disappointing reviews (and no, I have no financial interest in the restaurant and do not know anyone personally or otherwise that works there....)

This restaurant was a favorite of mine for a long time and my department at work even hosted two holiday parties there. However, within the last year I feel that the customer service has become TERRIBLE!!! (Both when you order for delivery AND when you eat in!) It's really too bad but thankfully I have found other Mexican restaurants that are both delicious AND friendly!

You should not order what you usually have when at a Mexican restaurant. Try something new, the guacamole appetizer is great and the "cadillac" margarita is the BEST - a full shot of Grand Marnier on the side!!! Yum. We always have the same thing - Carne Asada is the best in town and their mole sauce can be ordered on the side, put it on everything.

Maybe we missed something, but my girlfriend and I thought this was one of the worst restaurants we'd ever been to. The margaritas were mediocre and we ordered the ceviche as an appetizer and it came in some thick tomato ketchup concoction with peas in it. Maybe this is some regional specialty but I've been to Mexico a number of times and never encountered this fare. Oh yeah and the vegetarian burrito came with sliced american cheese in it. Is that authentic? Even the quality of tortilla chips and salsa was poor. Just awful really.

I've been going there for over 4 yrs. (a regular at this point). The service I receive from the waitstaff is outstanding. The food taste like a home cooked meal and the margarita's will take you to another world :)

It is soo hard to find good authentic mexican food and this is the place!!! The parrilladas with shrimp, chicken, chorizo, carne asada, short ribs and grilled cebollitas are amazing!! Margaritas are good. This is my weekend birthday place, so much fun and the staff is so nice!!

Excellent Mexican fare for a reasonable price. Try the 2600 S. Kedzie location and the one in Berwyn at Harlem/Cermak. They are even BETTER! Really. Puts Lalo's to shame...
