I went last night for a birthday party. We had a blast. We were in the back room with the music and the dancing. The music was more urban contemporary in the back which I liked. It wasn't too crowded but still a nice mixture of people. The atmosphere was great it was laid back and still upbeat.

Previously, I enjoyed this spot. They have karaoke.. pool.. and a back room for dancing with a large stage. It usually isn't too crowded.. The bars have fast service... The crowd has never been a dancing bunch-- even though the dance floors look spectacular. My friends and I are usually the only ones dancing... with a couple here and there...

But this time-- I was disappointed. The guy at the door was turning people away left and right... pants too baggy... people having had too much to drink. he was just making up stuff... wearing flooded carpenter pants himself.. Id say he was on a power trip.

The last few times we had gone, there was no cover. But they were charging last night...

We ended up going across the street and had a wonderful time.

If you prefer the Stalinesque comforts of mother Russia, or perhaps Nazi Germany is more your style, come on down to Mothers Too! Beware, the dress code is strict and if not adhered to, prepare for a beat down. I was in this "establishment" on a dead Wedensday night with no more than 10 other patrons when a friendly bouncer told me that my tanktop was not acceptable attire. When our table informed him that we would be leaving just as soon as we paid our tab, they decided it would be entertaining to call the police on me.

A friendly Chicago policeman accompanied by one of his fellow cops and the clubs doorman promptly entered, threw me to the floor, jumped on me, and placed me under arrest for disorderly conduct. All because they didnt like my undershirt.

PS Out-of-towners: Note the warm greeting of "welcome to Chicago" the police offers send your way as they're taking pot shots at you in the stomach. What a wonderful place!! I cant wait to return!
