New Japan is past its prime. The sushi is now mediocre, not much variety at all. My last visit: no albacore, no uni, no kani, no toro, no ama ebi, no unagi, no unago.... you get the picture.
The last couple visits, the wait staff was friendly but not well informed with regard with what the sushi bar and kitchen had to offer.
I've decided to stop coming here... Kuni's a few blocks south (Main just E of Chicago) has much better sushi.
