This is the one bar I absolutely must go to any time I visit Chicago. Every year I hold my breath that it is still there and somehow, it has held off the temptation to turn into some plastic hip-hop bar like the others in the neighborhood. They've got James Brown and Devo in the jukebox! You can get sake served hot from the microwave with an Old Style chaser! Ah, heaven.

this is the greatest bar in the city. they have the pixies in the jukebox, and you don't have to wait an hour and a half to hear your songs. every morning i say a prayer that the remodeling does not change it.

yeah, just moved from bklyn,ny and nisei seems to be lakeview's one and only dive with a good draft beer and juke box selection. was beginning to think chciago just didn't "get it". thank god there's at least one!
