Oak street Beach is Much smaller than some other beaches in the city these days but it is a nice, clean beach. It has beautiful views of the city, good lifeguards and was all around a good time.

I was a lifeguard there for six wonderful summers. It was an amazing experience. I can tell you that the most beautiful girls go to Oak Street. Because of a total lack of parking, you don't get any riff-raff. Really, it is almost a private beach for the Gold Coast residents. The lifeguards at the beach are the best in the city. I feel badly that land errosion is shrinking the beach. In the 1970's there was twice as much sand as there is today, and in the 1930's you had to walk a half mile of sand before you reached the water. Enjoy it while you can. I give it twenty years before it is gone.

Oak Street Beach is the type of beach you can find everything from sunbathing to biking or running. The beach is very safe, the lifeguards are exceptional. I have yet to find a better beach, although i already know such a thing does not exist.
