My partner and I recently dined at Oceanique in Evanston. Major disappointment. All the reviews I had read gave this place 3 or 4 stars and called it the best seafood french place on the northshore. NOT SO!!! The service was appalling (different waiters took the appetizer, entree and dessert orders). The place was drafty. The food was very expensive and not at all upto par. Jason had the scallop appetizer which was oversauced and I had the foie gras which was good. My entree, the bouilliabase, was really sub par and very salty and had an after taste. Jason had the sturgeon which was also overburdened with sauce. The dessert were good. FOr the price we paid I expected a lot more. I won't be going back.
