The food is incredible. I had my first experience with risotto - had the lobster and 5 mushroom and cannot get it out of my mind. Will have it everytime I go there. Salads are so special and would recommend this place over any others in the area.

Disappointed. An expensive pre-opera dinner let down. My scallops were the size of plums, but tough like apples. The ham wrapping was leather-like and all of it fishy too. The fingerling potatoes were fossils, purple in color, perhaps in pain from sitting in a pan for most of the afternoon. My spouse had the Kansas City strip with encrusted horseradish topping. (Where was the horseradish? ) The steak was cooked to her liking, but at $30 nothing to rave about. The accompanying once or twice-baked shell with potatoe cubes covered with melted cheddar were second-rate, diner quality at best. There are no starters on the table but flat-bread on the table, no warm rolls or the like. The wine list is acceptable but you are mostly on your own. The room lacks intimacy, perhaps a table along the wall or a sidewalk view would improve that aspect. Service was passable. Curtain is at 7:30 and the place empties like a cattle pen opened to the prarie. Won't be going back on my dime ($110!)

I have visited One North on several occasions for the simple fact that the location is perfect for a quick business lunch and the service is fantastic. The menu is somewhat unimaginitive although the portion are enormous. In addition I have noticed that the food seems a bit inconsistant. Occasionally my chop salad will arrive with bacon or avacado and sometimes beets will be in their place instead. The seafood is mediocre and the entree's accompaning vegetables tend to be a bit imbalanced with the featured ingredient, but all in all, I can't really complain. The staff is always extremely friendly regardless of how busy the place seems to get. This is the reason I continue to go back to One North Kitchen and Bar.
