The Spitfire Grill is Fantastic -- look what Cneterstage has to say... Who says they don't write powerful new musicals anymore? Just look at James Valq and Fred Alley's "The Spitfire Grill," an exquisite and captivating little tuner, now in a thrilling production by Provision Theater. Based on a 1996 movie that starred Ellen Burstyn, "Spitfire" is an inspiring and surprisingly moving tale about second chances and starting over. The musical offers three choice female roles, for which Director Timothy Gregory has enlisted two venerable veterans (Susan Moniz and Iris Lieberman) and one exciting newcomer (Tempe Thomas). These ladies are not only accomplished vocalists, but also fully believable and committed actresses. Together with Jeffrey Baumgartner, Jarrod Zimmerman, Mierka Girten and David Marcotte, they bring the little town of Gilead, Wisconsin vividly to life.
. How refreshing to come out of the theatre feeling uplifted and rejuvenated. "The Spitfire Grill" is a show you'll want to put high on your priority list. How long might you have to wait to witness the unforgettable combination of touching music, story and acting as ideally realized as it has been by Provision Theater?
