I have gone to PJ Clarke's one three seperate occassions & on my 1st experience, that was the best. The brownie sundae was divine. On the other occasions, it was one of the WORST experience I ever had in a restaurant. The 2nd experience, My husband & I were waiting for some friends; they were 35 to 40 minutes late. The host (I was walking w/ a cane) tried to seat us on the second. There are NO ELEVATORS to get up there. Our waitress gave us our drinks and NEVER ask us for a refill or if we wanted any appetiizers. The bus boy was the one who asked us for a refill not our waitress. When our friends did show up, our food was late and cold. On the 3rd occasion, I was in my wheelchair & it was pretty close to impossible to get to the bathroom (which was not wheelchair accessable) & small. The rugs that were placed on the floor were not secure on the floor and it was WAY TOO CROWDED! I will not be going a fourth time. If I do, I'll be taking my stuff to go.

Incredible burgers! We go here usually for dinner, not for the bar although the bar is usually comfortably crowded with all ages of people (mostly 30 and older). Have never been disappointed with the food, drinks or service and LOVE the burgers. I'd go so far as to say Best in Chicago!

P.J. Clarke's is notorious for allowing the same thugs come in to their place and pick pocket its patrons or steal their purses. They are fully aware of this problem and opt not to spend money on security to protect its patrons (like Gibson’s and Tavern on Rush have done successfully). They say they want "regulars" and they got them - they're called "THIEFS."
NOTICE: This is NOT the OFFICIAL P.J. Clarke's website. These reviews are a forum for opinions about the venue that other Centerstage Chicago users may want to know, not to order merchandise, apply for a job, etc.
