HAHA! You've gotta be kidding. i went to that bar that night. i saw the 'Big Ordeal' and wouldn't call it that. "Bobby Midnight" is a diminutive man on a massive ego trip. The bassist was okay. The drummer kicked ass in spite of Little Bobby's crap choice of covers ("Sister GoldenHair" by America?!) My friends & i were just laughing about that night, googled him & found this review, which was obviously written by the little man himself. 20 CDs in 20 years? i heard one & didn't give it more than one listen. Mr. "Midnight" is his biggest & only fan. Thank God there's lots of good music to listen to in Chicago. Midnight Mediocrity!

Demeto Time in Villa Park, January 22,2005. Bobby Midnight and the Big Ordeals band with Joe Richmond on bass and Pat on drums played a powerful first set considering they are just a three piece. Bobby's voice is just like Billy Joe of Green Day. The second set was more like medley of covers and originals. Again, a very high powered set with people dancing and having a good time. The third set brought "special guest" guitar slinger Robert Fairweather of the Luv Machine to the stage and the band opened up with a couple of cool original songs, notably "Bring on the Love" with cool funky vibe and a great lyrical breakdown. Robert Fairweather's guitar playing drew all the guitar heads to the stage to cop some licks. The band really seemed to enjoy themselves and the crowd did too. Bobby Midnight, the leader, was an entertaining front man. Demeto Time is a nice joint hidden in Villa Park by the prairie path. On this snowy blizzard in Chicago nite with the drifts piled a few feet high, the bar was packed until closing time.
NOTICE: This is NOT the OFFICIAL Bobby Midnight website. These reviews are a forum for opinions about the venue that other Centerstage Chicago users may want to know, not to order merchandise, apply for a job, etc.
