This place used to be my favorite. How times have changed. We ordered from here tonight. The food arrived in about 45 minutes, not bad, but the food was cold, and they forgot the rice. When I called they said they would send someone right over. It took another 45 minutes for the rice to arrive! When I called to check on it, the guy was very rude. He was even worse when I asked for a credit! They would not refund any money at all. I will never order from here again. The prices are too expensive. You can get much better food, less expensive, and much better service elsewhere. Do not waste your time with Ping Pong.

The waiters and even management are not friendly. I've been there a couple times and they're always bitchy. They think they're super models! So silly. The food's not bad but the staff's attitude always ruins it!

To the pingpong staff: you are mannerless, disrespectful, unprofessional and need some lessons in customer service. To parties of 6 and above, do not waste your time no matter what you have heard about the food, it's not worth it - we waited for 2 hours for a table - waiting for the other party of 8 to leave before we could be seated - and upon inquiry we were advised that pingpong is a small restaurant, and they do not usually seat parties of 8. Apparently, the staff at pingpong simply lack the lateral thinking skills to rearrange some tables to accommodate their customers.

Absolutely ridiculous service experience. We have been absolutely saddened by the way the hosts and waitstaff simply do not care about the customer any longer. They are acting like it is a priviledge to eat here and are not interested in making money. It's sad because this used to be our favorite neighborhood place complete with Henry waiting at the door to great you by name. On our last visit the hostess blatantly skipped us in seating and made no apologiers or concessions. The time prior we were told they could not seat more tha 4 on the patio, only to see two six tops the following day. With this sort of attitude the quality of the food means nothing.

I went back to Ping Pong with 8 friends. Service was great, food was ample and delicious. Until I received my entree. It was a few pieces of chicken and bamboo shoots spread thin over an ocean of crispy rice noodles. This was a pathetic meager portion, especially compared to the other dishes. I decided to send back the laughable portion so they could give me something I could eat. Over 15 minutes later my friends were all done and I was still without an entree in front of me. I decided to cancel the whole thing altogether. HOWEVER, they didn't take it off the bill. They were unable to delivery an acceptable meal, then were unable to fix it in a timely manner. The manager on duty outright refused to take it off the bill, blaming me for having them make 2 dishes. He made it feel as if I had done something wrong. He kept saying its their "policy". I wasn't quite sure what that meant. But apparantly he was just happy having 9 people appalled at a dish they could not and would not correct. All 9 of us will not be returning. It appears their policy is to not fix mistakes, apologize, or have customers leave happy... So disappointing. The 9 of us will not be returning to that restaurant. There are plenty of other restaurants that value their customers.

I regret I hadn't read the reviews before my husband and I went to PingPong restaurant - this would have saved us time and money. I agree with the other comments regarding inattentive and rude servers. The food is worse - the crab rangoons should be renamed into cream cheese rangoons - that's all we tasted, could not find any crab in them; potstickers tasted like they were made of spam, not pork. The pingpong chicken should be called pingpong walnuts with vegetables - I tried hard to find chicken there. My husband who ordered pear martini left the glass full having paid almost 10 bucks for it - it tasted like cheap vodka. If you want to have a pleasant evening, avoid that place at all costs - because you are only going to ruin your night.

This place is awesome. The service can be somewhat slow but just enjoy the fun people watching, and amazing food and it'll all be good. You can't go here without ordering the lettuce cups- they are divine. The food is excellent.

I live in Atlanta, but visited Chicago recently and was impressed, we have nothing like this here. One the high points of my trip was a visit to this alternative version of asian dining. You're allowed to bring your own wine(via corking fee) and the food is worth the exceptional wait. It's the only place besides the traditional Korean grill that offers Bulgogi on the menu, believe me, we have an awesome Korean grill here called Hae Won Dea. The service might be slow but, from my experience, if you are nice to them you will discover they are interesting people.

It is disappointing to see this restaurant grow in size, staff and disfunction. Not only have they increased their prices, but service is just plain terrible. When you have ask if your appetizers are ready, or ask if your drinks are going to make it out before your main dish, then there is no justification to pay more then $6 for any dish. Over the years, the menu hasn't changed and the food still lacks originality. And DON'T even thing about take-out or delivery... cold Pan-Asian is not worth the hour+ wait! Time for change in the neighborhood!

talk about a staff full of divas! we went in, sat down, waited 10 minutes with no waiter even after making eye contact multiple times. our guess is the divas are more interested in their own needs vs that of the customer. skip this one if you expect even a modicum of customer service. we ping ponged on outta there..
