Overall this is a nice place. There aren't many options for a good sit down meal in Oak Park, and this is one of them. The seafood is great, and they have an amazingly large beer list. Great patio for summer, and they have computers to use at the bar (kind of cool & unique.
The only knock I have on the place is the service. I get bad service there all the time, whether it be taking 10 minutes before getting acknowledged, appetizers and entrees coming out within a minute of each other, and servers being unknowledgable about the menu (This becomes a real problem with ordering the specials. I felt like going in the back and asking the cooks to describe it for me.)
Overall a good place, but sevice could be better.

I think this is a great resturant. My girlfriend and I go weekly and have always had great food. Pretty reasonably priced too. They have daily drink specials. Crab cakes are the best I have ever had. They also have sweet potato fries which are a little pricey but very good too.

I was suprised to see bad reviews! I really enjoy this place. Great poor boy sandwiches and crabcakes. The outdoor patio is awesome when the weather is nice and the beer menu rocks. In a great location of Oak Park - easy access.

Well, it's true... I have seen Poor Phil's eject obnoxiously drunk people. That's the only reason why I can think ri (review below) didn't like the bar.
If you like seafood, Poor Phil's is a very nice place. Their soups are wonderful, the oysters rock!! And the catfish poorboy is lick the plate good. If you don't like seafood... then I'm not exactly sure what you're doing at PPs.
