PORTILLO'S IS THE BEST!!!! I have never ordered anything there that I didn't love! My favorites are the Beef-N-Cheddar Croissants and the Jumbo Chili Dogs. They are GREAT!!!!! I live in Indian Head Park, IL and I'm so glad a new Portillo's opened near me.

I used to love Portillo's too but have you tried their dogs lately? They are disgusting. Portillo's changed them. I will never buy a dog there again until they go back to the original!

Such a relief now that Portillo's opened a new resturaunt in Moreno Valley near March AFB. Just a short 15 minute drive thru the Canyon from Redlands, I now can savor the Chicago Dogs and world renown Italian Beef with those awesome sweet peppers that I grew up with back in Chicago.

Today I will Make the 180 mile round trip to Portillo's in Buena Park, CA.. I wish I had a larger stomach so I could eat an Italian beef and 2 hot dogs.. I tried their frozen hot dogs, and while they are great, the fresh stuff prepared by them still makes me travel from San Diego every once in awhile...

Portillo's has great food! The Italian Beef is one of the best. The best part of the sandwich has to be the hot giardiniera, so much flavor!

I'm from Iowa and have never strayed to far from home. My first trip to Chicago was in 2004 on my honeymoon. I've heard mention of Chicago style hotdogs but had never had one. A co-worker who was origially from Chicago told me I had to try Portillo's, as it was the best Chicago style hot dog in town. Ironically, the hotel my wife and I stayed at was right across the street from Portillo's and was the first place we went after checking in. Since then I've revisited Chicago a few times, and every time I do it requires a manditory stop at Portillo's. For me, it's not just the dog itself, but the whole feel of the establishment. The decor, the "what can I get you honey?" from the gal behind the counter...everything! I've tried placed in Iowa who claim to have authentic C.S. hotdogs, but though better than nothing, there's just something is missing. I will always hold a place in my heart for Portillo's and hope to be back as soon as posible.

We discovered this restaurant a few months ago in Buena Park, CA. Hot dogs are great. My husband loves the polish sausage. Today I had the Italian Beef sandwich. Wow. It was great. I think the prices are a little steep, but the food is good, so I guess it's worth it. We'll go again soon.

The hot dogs are SO good! The only problem I have with them is that they are kind of small, for me. Don't get me wrong, they TASTE great, but I would enjoy it so much more if the dogs were just a bit larger. I usually have to buy two to fill my stomach. It's also kind of pricey, for such a small dog, too. I've yet to try the other things though.. I'm looking forward to trying their sandwiches!
