Called ahead three hours for a reservation and still had to wait 20 minutes upon arrival. Nice decor inside. Wait staff seemed inexperienced. Restaurant sits across from a firehouse so you may get an interesting lightshow during the night. Food was mediocre. Recommend China Grill instead.

If you can get by all the suburbanites and tourist - this place has good food and nice atmosphere

The food and environment are wonderful! If you are looking for authentic chinese food, this probably isn't the place. But the amercanized version is some of the best I've had.
The wait staff is some of the best ever, they are wonderful and on top of everything!
I would highly recommend!

Ben Pao is a nice looking restaurant. If you want Chinese food, however, it is not the place to go. It blows my mind that in one of the few American cities with a nice-sized Chinatown, people are calling this Epcot Center version of Asian cuisine the "best Chinese food in the state."
I think people mistake decor and presentation for taste. This is food you'd be satisfied with in a hotel, but it's not Chinese food and not worth going out of your way for.

Ben Pao is great! It is Americanized Chinese food but it is fresh and tasty. They have the best Sesame Chicken I have ever tasted.

pkchicago must work for a competitor. I am a frequent visitor to Ben Pao and have never experienced anything that was stated in the email. I've been going to Ben Pao since it was first open. The food,atmosphere and SERVICE is great.
