Spyder Monkey combines some of the hottest sounds in music providing infectious grooves and funky beats.
Fronted by singer songwriter Susie Lofton, co-founder & former voice of the Chicago band Digable Cat, her lyrical musings have been described as “sweet, soulful & unique”. She commands a powerful voice that transcends the average rock diva with a timber that is truly unmatched. Other projects Susie has been involved with in the past include recording at the world famous Fantasy Studios in Berkeley, California with Grammy nominated producer Jeffery Wood, 4 Non Blondes drummer Dawn Richardson and performing with Sonia Dada vocalist Paris Delane.
Coming from the heart of the Jungle is the beast behind the beauty: Mike Tooles – Drums, Phil Alley – Guitars & Jeff Blatherwick – Bass. The three-headed monster scaling the latitudes of a well oiled, finely tuned machine, bring to life many genres of music with a few swings from branch to branch.
I wish I could just get a life and leave her alone.

Last Night my friend Dalia and I went out to this place called Morseland Bar, Which is a resturant/bar in Chicago. We had some good food and good drinks and talked alot beacause we had seen each other in several months! As we were talking we noticed that there was a band that was setting up to play! Usually this place has live music all the time, so we decied to stay and listen to the band. Turns out the band was awesome!!! I really liked their music and we were able to get a free CD!!! Yeah!! The band was called Spyder Monkey and they are on myspace, so check them out you may like'm!

K, while I'm talking about opening bands - let me mention Spyder Monkey from Chicago. They are amazingly talented and their lead singer is a beautiful woman named Susie. They were really nice people and we hope to see them in Champaign sometime soon. (At Cowboy Monkey, maybe?)

We have seen SPYDER MONKEY quite a few times and they are amazing. Ever since she left that awful band Digable Cat or better known now at Pitiful Cat, she has been able to truly flex her expertise. Susie is beautiful, has a beautiful and strong voice and her band is absolutely incredibly talented. Kudos to her and nothing but the best to them! Down with haters and jelous loser guitar players!
NOTICE: This is NOT the OFFICIAL Spyder Monkey website. These reviews are a forum for opinions about the venue that other Centerstage Chicago users may want to know, not to order merchandise, apply for a job, etc.
