The show "The Plays the Thing" was very entertaining and the cast was excellent.

    Final

The production runs just over 90 minutes and is presented without intermission; while the scenes are well paced the transitions between scenes are distractingly slow. Often presented with low lighting the actors set up the next scene still in character but too much time elapses and the audience is left waiting and wondering if there are technical problems. Given this distraction coupled by the uncomfortable seating one wonders if an intermission would have made the evening even more enjoyable.

PART II While the SSP production is entertaining it is Lorraine Freund as the older refugee Azra that is the most captivating. Freund has physically created a richly believable character and found humor in a tragic setting. She stands out in a very strong ensemble cast. All the women refugees have adopted a Croatian accent that never detracts from the story telling. These five actresses portraying the refugees exude closeness to each other as if they have been together for years.

Pippin is the new up and comming musicall which opens this friday FEB 18th. The players portray this production in a new and exciting way. The performance alone is characterized in a fun personall way. All though pippen is pg-13 due to some adult content, it is definately an expereince for the whole family.
