OMG! This place was awesome! While in Chicago yesterday, we decided to stop in here to eat. The enviroment was fun, the staff was attentive, and stopping in here was a bonus to our fun jaunt! Thanks!

Working in the neighborhood,I used to eat at Salt and Pepper-until today. I won't be4 going back there for a while. The service was horrendous, the waitress who was busy flirting with her boyfriend, who wasn't even dining there, screwed up my order. When I asked her about HER ERROr, she became defensive and tried to lie about it. Her boyfriend found my anger humerous and began laughing st me and made an innapropriate comment. The burger that I was served withouth the balance of my meal was lousy. I'll make sure to point the tourists getting off of the train looking for a GOOD family restaurant in the neighborhood AWAY from this place.

I went over to salt and pepper all the time because I live less than a block away. their place is very convenient to eat at. A variety of selections, from breakfast to lunch and so on... I love their food...it's tasty and they also gave you enough to fill you up.

Some friends and I went to the Salt and Pepper diner for breakfast prior to an afternoon ball game. The food is awesome, the prices are great and their bloody mary's are out of this world. We had quality service all the way around. Looking forward to my next trip to Chicago.....this place is a must!!

My wife, me, my mom, and my dad all went to Chicago for a week of fun. I had seen the Salt and Pepper Diner advertised on a Food Network show with Andrew Zimmerman. It was advertised as inexpensive with large portions. The advertisement was not kidding around about that. For as few people who were in the restaurant, it was pretty loud with music, but the food was excellent. I highly recommend the sweet potato fries and onion rings for sides. Order a salad for a main dish and you will not be sorry. The salads are served in Jethro Bodine-sized bowls and flavored to please. I had the patty melt and I will never have another one better. Go to this restaurant and follow it up with a Cub's game at Wrigley Field not more than a stones throw away from the restaurant. Two thumbs up for this place.

Took the family out for Sunday breakfast before the Cubs game. You can't beat this place. Good food, generous portions plus fast and friendly service. I'll be back next time I'm in town!

I have to agree...good food, good prices, bad staff. It's really too bad because otherwise its a nice place, but I'd rather spend a few extra bucks and go elsewhere to have better service. Where do they find these people?! AA???

Food may be good and the prices are right, but some of the wait staff are pretty trashy, one waitress in particular. If they hired better people the environment would be much better.

Can't beat their prices and the food is great too! The Manager is cute too!
