To start the night off, the bouncer was rude with us. Once we paid the $10 cover to get in, we were a little put off by the $6 a bottle beers. The atmosphere is interesting, but the people not so much. Too many wrigleyville yuppies. To top it off, the music was really generic techno, the kind you can hear just about anywhere. I would have expected better from the DJ lineup they had.
The bottom line is, I found smart bar to be average in quality, but steep in price. I don't think I'll go back.

SWITCH (Feb. 9) was killing it as expected. My only complaint is that he basically plays his own stuff almost exclusively (along with his mates Loveys, Rose, Herve etc.) and so the only real anticipation is which one of his famous tracks will he drop next? The bass was warped and full-on, the crowd was definitely up for it, and the track selection was mostly top-notch. A bit too many of the same type of breakdowns but overall a good Chicago debut for Mr. Taylor. Can't wait for Jesse Rose in May!

Smartbar was hot hot hot a couple of years ago...now it's really died down. But I gotta say it is still a GREAT time. Smartbar has done what a lot of other bars have struggled to establish - a consistency. You will always have a good time at Smartbar. There is will always be good looking folks. The drinks will be right. And you won't be spending the whole night outside in line. Smartbar is fun. head out.

pretty dope spot with some good music. however whoever played before Squarpusher bit it hard. I :CUBE redeemed everything though later.

Ok so smart bar stays in the loop. ON the outs is several bars what else is new...some cant' keep it up- need i explain, it's tough these dayz. but I am sure that saturdays in ole wrigleyville will stay alive. All I say is wait till next year! Ye talone this fall winter session will be strictly for the underground.
