You are not open 24/7 anymore so you need to re-update your website. The service is great and I much prefer it to Little Corner Restaurant where the current owner is a jerk and the head waitress is rude. Alexander's is another place where the waitresses are rude. So I will walk the extra block or so to visit you.

Standee's is a solid restaurant - it may not be the best food in Chicago, but its really inexpensive, and perfect if you are living on a college budget. Almost every meal there is under six dollars - the breakfast meals are of amazing value based on their low price and quantity. It's also open 24/7, though it becomes a haven for the shadiest people after midnight.

while everyone says great things about this dump, i found it repulsive, twilight zone waitresses, so burnt out that they can't even stand, soup from a can, breakfast may be good, but the rest of this so called menu is total garbage!the owner hides in the kitchen, and has his hired help lie for him, when he screws up your order, this place should be checked by the mayors dumpster task force, dirty, dirty, dirty filthy place!and thats the truth!!!stay away if you don't want to eat rodent hairs yuk!!

The best french onion soup ever! Every wednesday I go to Standee's after work and just sit over a bowl of baked onion soup with cheese on top. I read and people watch for hours and no one really bothers me. It is a perfect weekday release.

I moved to Granville in 67 after fulfilling my draft obligation. Nearly everything in the area changed, but Standees has changed little since that time. I now live in Hegewisch, but still like going to Standees when I'm in the area.

Live in the area and go here at least once a week. I usually get the breakfast because I am a sucker for a good ham/egg/hasbrowns. The quality varies from great to amazing, depending on who's cooking. Interesting crowd. Good stuff.

My brother-in-law took me to Standee's for lunch after I helped him move a couple of weeks ago. We both had the Gyros platters and iced tea. The food was hot, delicious and plentiful. The iced tea was very good and strong, with a hint of herbal taste. The juke box is quite eclectic with a Pink Floyd CD listed right above a Frank Sinatra CD.

Last week I was on my first-ever trip to Chicago and was staying near the restaurant. I ended up stopping there for breakfast nearly every morning. Both waittresses I met were great, and I enjoyed the conversation of the regulars. It was a great way to to get into the Chicago mood. Betty was the super-friendly waitress that was there most of the times i went and she always remembered what i had ordered the day before. What a great place. They dont make'em like it anymore. Long may it prosper! (btw is it Standees or Stan Dee's? i wonder)

Standee's makes the most wonderful reuben on earth.
period.
Also ran into that wonderwoman...jorelle, joreen, something like that. Split a reuben with her. We agreed that Standee's is the "Best Restaurant" west of Broadway!
Keep an eye out for the colorful local patrons too. One gentleman has got to have the best looking hair I've ever seen on anyone, man or woman. Made me want to go and shave my head....
