They are amazing. I have gone to see alot of bands perform, but they are the real deal. They are truly talented and wonderful men, just ask their fans. I am a new fan, but can honestly say that I will be at every show I can make it to because their show is that great!

AMERICAN ENGLISH gave us a one - two punch last weekend with a Friday night show at 115 Bourbon Street in Merrionette Park followed on Saturday night with their first performance at Fitzgeralds. Both venues were packed houses - with the Berwyn venue reaching to the city limits and beyond! It was at this weekend's shows that Eric ('Paul') gave us 'Blackbird' which is relatively new to the set list. Just watching him play a 'most challenging' guitar piece and singing said song was most remarkable! Young ('John') gave a stellar performance with a TRIBUTE TO JOHN which included songs like 'Nobody Told Me', 'Mother', 'Instant Karma' and 'Imagine'. . I have seen American English perform at many of the Chicagoland theaters like THE RIALTO in Joliet and THE RAUE CENTER in Crystal Lake. Whether they perform in a pub / theater / high school gymnasium OR one of the MANY summer festival venues held throughout the Midwest - IT IS ALWAYS OUTSTANDING! We are so fortunate that these FIVE EXTREMELY TALENTED men can replicate TO PERFECTION the music AND magnitude of The Beatles. What FUN to see SO MANY GENERATIONS singing and dancing together...it IS the music of peace, love and unity! Recently I was present when the band performed an acoustic set which included 'Nowhere Man', 'This Boy' and 'Honey Don't'. No soundboard. No microphones. Just PERFECT harmonies!!!
I had seen The Beatles during my youth... AMERICAN ENGLISH IS ~ pure genius! JUST WATCH LISTEN AND BELIEVE!!

I have been going to see American English regularly for the past 8 years. They are the real deal. They sing every word and play every note live. The band members work very hard at what they do. Their objective is to play and sing every song exactly like the record. They are so awesome at it that some people can't believe that what they're hearing is for real. Take it from me, they are just a group of extremely talented musicians and should not be put down for being so close to perfect.

Just so everybody knows, I am American English's sound engineer, and it would be over my dead body that i would mix a band that does anything close to lip syncing. I do use a doubler during certain songs in order to mimick the double tracking that was done when the music was recorded by the Beatles, but beyond that, it's all real. I guess it's so real that some people don't realize the difference. The band does make mistakes from time to time, and if you paid attention, you would see that. Turns out they're just really good. Go figure.

I saw American English last night for the first time at Fitzgeralds in Berwyn. I think they rip people off with their performance. It's clear that if you watch them closely that they are playing and singing over their own recorded samples. Many times during their performance you hear three voices singing perfectly, when in reality only one performer is even close to a microphone. If they can't play or sing for real without enhancing everything artificially, what is the point.
