The front of this place belies the flavors- you would think that a place painted in brilliant yellows, greens, and blues on its front facade would have equally brilliant, say, guacamole, but no. The guac was pretty tasteless, the tortilla chips were rather stale. However, the margaritas were stiff. I pass this place all the time when I'm shopping at Trader Joes and finally decided to stop in, and know my curiosity is sated. Not worth it, unless you're a tourist craving a stiff drink coming off of Michigan Ave.

The food and service was terriable. The chips were oily, the food was bland. It took over an hour to get our food and the waitress did not know anything. Lazy! The busboys were a lot better than the waitress. For the food and the price we paid we would of been better off going to Taco Bell.

We will never go back to Su Casa. We live in the neighborhood and time after time I have been disappointed by this place. I don't understand. It used to be sooo good. What happened to Su Casa?

The food was bland, service was less than mediocre, and my beer was spoiled. The chips were so oily we couldn't eat them, the guacamole had no flavor (no flavor! how do you do that with guacamole?), and the meat in the tacos were lacking in everything from taste to texture.

We also didn't receive the water we had asked for as soon as we sat down until halfway through our entree, not to mention getting the (spoiled) beer we ordered also after our entrees made it to the table.

The place was NOT busy and it is hard to find a reason for such shoddy service.

The busboy seemed to hate the world, and the waitress just didn't care about anything. If this really was Me Casa, I wouldn't run it so poorly.

The six of us will never return to Su Casa. The food was underwhelming and the service almost came up to that level. The waitress didn't bring me the drink I ordered, she forgot to take the food order from one of us, and then disappeared for a long time when we were in need of some service. Then she had the nerve to add an 18% gratuity on to the bill. Nowhere in the restaurant - not even on the menu - was there any notice of an automatic gratuity. When questioned, the waitress argued that every restaurant in Chicago charges a gratuity. Not one food order was enjoyed by any of us. The pigeons outside were feasting better then we. The furnace was constantly blowing hot air right on top of our table, and the music was loud and reminiscent of a south-of-the-border polka! Never again. Save your money and your stomach. This one isn't worth the bother!

Absolutely the best Queso Fundido I've ever eaten. I'll stop into Su Casa for that appetizer before going elsewhere for dinner; however, stay for dinner plenty of times too. Would kill for the recipe so I could enjoy it when I'm not travelling to Chicago. That's a hint mis amigos.

I'm a vegetarian and many times I think I pay too much for my meals (a spinach dish may cost only $1 less than a chicken dish). But this was worth the cost. The atmosphere was very nice and so was the staff. The food was Excellent. Much better than many "pseudo-Mexican" restaurants.
