Tried a daily special and it was incredible. The dessert was fantastic as well! Brought my own 6 pack of micro brew and the whole bill was under $20! What a good find. I think I've found a new place!!!!!

Food is horrible for this wanna be REALITY BITES cafe. I don't need the pretentious attitude and service from TRANSPLANTS FROM OTHER NEIGHBORING STATES. The waiter was a major a**. Very rude!

Wow, I was reading these reviews and I gotta say...weird. Every time I've gone there I've had something delicious and tasty. Sure the kitchen staff is a little slow (what with the place being crowded almost every time I go there).

Nevertheless, I really like the restaurant and I think their food is very, very good.

THEY’LL TAKE MORE THAN A BITE: I had brunch at Bite this past Sunday. I paid for the meal with my Check Card. The meal cost around $50 for four of us. When I checked my account the next day, there were 3 charges on my account pending for $50. I called Bite and was told that the credit card machine was old and this happens A LOT. (So why don't they fix their machine?) They must have run my card three times. Because I used my Check card, immediately $150 odd dollars was debited from my account. I asked them to remedy the situation. They said that it was now in my bank's hands. the Bank said that Bite could fax them a document requesting that the authorizations be dropped or I could just wait 5-7 days for them to be dropped and the $ credited to my account. I asked Bite to do this. They told me that they are such a small business that they don't have a fax machine. I said I'd be happy to pick up the letter and fax it to my bank. The employee said that she would talk to the owner when he comes in next (but he is hardly EVER there) and see what he says and have him call me. That never happened. My bank said that the charges should eventually drop, but in the meantime, I could be subject to overdraft fees that I will have to dispute after the charges are dropped. This is SUCH a pain that Bite seems to know is happening OFTEN with their clients. If you can't fix it STOP TAKING DEBIT CARDS!

I read some good reviews of Bite elsewhere (wish I would have checked reader reviews here first), and decided to give it another try after steering clear for several years. What was I thinking? The place is cool but I cannot overstate how bad the food was. I literally thought I was going to be sick if I continued eating, and we're talking about simple foods like a side of spinach and red beans and rice. I felt like the staff must have been laughing at us in the back, the food was so awful. Unbelieveable for such a well-established restaurant. There are plenty of better places to choose from. I'll never eat there again.

My wife and I ate at Bite before a show at the Empty Bottle. We both had specials. Her's was OK, but mine was distinctly disappointing. My pork chops were far too thin (maybe 3/8th inch), overdone and dry. The apple relish was tasty, but a very disappointing $14 entree.

Bite Cafe was a completely disappointing experience. First, when we arrived at the restaurant, the hostess told us that they had "lost" our reservation. We then had to wait in line behind 5 other people to be seated. In most restaurants, having only 5 people in front of you in line is no big deal -- but this place is so small that five people fill up about a quarter of all of the seating! We waited for almost an hour before being seated. Then, on the recommendation of our waiter, I ordered the Chicken Adobo with Fried Spinach and Jasmine Rice (one of the specials off of the black board). I don't know how they managed to make this dish so unappealing, but everything about it was just wrong. The chicken had no flavor whatsoever, and even the dark meat was dry. The fried spinach kept spilling off the plate, and tasted burned. Even though I had been fasting all day and was famished, I just could not eat my food.

My friends ordered different things off the menu, but not a single one found their entree to be outstanding. Most of the reviews consisted of "it was okay, but I wouldn't go back". About the only dish we ordered that we liked was the eggplant chevre appetizer. The other appetizer we ordered, fried tofu with peanut sauce, was also dry and went untouched.

I wish I could say I liked this restaurant, because it's local and seems like a great neighborhood place . . . but the food and service just don't warrant it!

It's one of our favourite dinner spots. Just order one of the specials, and enjoy. Don't forget to bring your own booze!
