By the way, fat bouncer. You are too slow to catch anyone. Better look for a job for slow, fat people.

Well, I just left Tai's Lounge and I have a story to tell. I arrived with a friend of mine. The evening went well for most of our stay. We played pool, etc. and had a nice time. We got on well with the bartender, Sarah, as well. Last call came and they began moving people towards the front door. The bartender gave us the feeling that we could at least finish the drinks we had recently purchased. However, the large bouncer came through quickly, chasing us out. My friend had finished his drink, so he went outside. However, my drink was very full so I was trying to drink as much as possible inside. The bouncer told me to leave and I pointed out the fact that many people were still at the bar drinking and that he was singling me out. This only made him more aggressive towards me and he chased me out the door, along with my friend. The fat bouncer then proceeded to challenge me and my friend. I was further out of his reach, but he managed to shove my friend around. He continued to run after us, but his tremendous weight kept him from catching us. I was shocked that he would pursue us even outside the bounds of the bar. I urge everyone to reconsider if they are thinking of going to this bar.

Absolutly the worst late night bar in the city. Stay away at all costs...the bouncers pushed my girl friend to the ground for no reason.

This place has the biggest asshole bouncers on a power trip that I have ever seen. I went there for after hours with a bunch of friends to celebrate my birthday. My friend stupidly tried to take a beer outside when we went for a smoke. Granted this was a dumb move, but the bouncer would not let him back inside nor would he let me back inside just for knowing him. I tried to explain my case and that it was my birthday and that I had done nothing wrong, but they still would not let me in. Then I found out later that when my girlfriend tried to reason with the bouncer, he called her an "ugly bitch." I used to go there quite a lot, but now they have lost my business as well as the business of the 15 friends I was with as well. Just from that dickhead power trip move, they lost hundreds of dollars of our business in that one night as we were all partying very hard and tipping extremely well. Thanks for ruining my birthday, assholes.
There are much better dive bars to go to than this in the area. I suggest avoiding this place at all costs and going to Nick's Uptown which is just a couple miles away.

Tai's kicks ASS!!! I end my night there EVERY time I'm out bar hopping. It's true, its a hole-in-the-wall, and a dive... but its got a welcoming feeling, and a great place to hook up.
I heart Blake and Jeff.
(Haven't seen Tai there in quite sometime)

I had the worst time there last Saturday night and would never recommend Tai's. The description of this bar sums it up perfectly...."sweatbox" and "high dart ratio".

The bouncers will only beat your ass if you deserve it, so don't be an asshole and you'll be fine.

Absolutly the worst place you could go in Chicago. Not only is this place a "shady dive" and not in the "good way". But the bouncers are known to beat the living crap out of patrons at will. I witnessed the bouncer beating a guy outside...and it wasn't pretty.

Tai's...Heffe(jeff) and Bosco... the two best bartenders in the city. Pre-game,Post-game and everywhere in between.
