I'm from Barcelona, Spain..So, when looking for spanish restaurants I saw this I said to myself let's try..And,what a huge dissapointed!! When the waiter brought me the food it wasn't made like we do in Spain..So I asked to the waiter why it was made it in a different way we do and he told me that our way has so many calories and the american people don't like that..I couldn't believe what he was saying..I definitely don't recommend this place to anyone, especially if you're from Spain.

We stop by this place. There are not so many spanish restaurant so we tryed.I went inside just to see it.It was pretty nice, one side is kind a typical tabern in Andalusia and the other seems more like a Restaurant or a fancy restaurant in Madrid or Barcelona, anyways we finally set outside.Well, there´re a problem when we talk about spanish food here. We all love tapas but tapas it´s just a way of socialize, talking, eating and drinking at the same time. Here it´s just an excuse for restaurant owner to serve small dishes for an expensive price. The menu here, seems so good, I´ve never saw any other so perfect, "gambas al ajillo".it was a huge mistake.I order that, of course and they brought something with "gambas" that wasn´t the dish i thougt.I´m from Spain so i know what i´m talking about. My friends order "berenjenas" and it was the same base than for the shrimps. The goat cheese was ok.Most of the peopel there were eating pasta(?)so if you expect a real spanish experience, try another place. By the way the service was bad, horrible I would never go back

Qué rico! This is my favorite restaurant in Evanston and a perfect place to enjoy some delicious authentic Spanish tapas. I have been here about a half dozen times, tried almost every item on the tapas menu, and I have never been disappointed. My favorites are the crab-stuffed croquetas and the tortilla española. I've had them and the marinated olives on every visit as they seem to represent an integral part of an authentic Spanish meal based on my experience living in Spain. I disagree with the centerstage reviewer who raved about the sangría, however. I found it to be rather watered-down in taste, but it's the only negative thing I can say about this truly amazing restaurant. I highly recommend going on a nice night so you can sit on the patio too.

I agree with the others (and disagree with the 'official' restaurant review). The food here is consistently good, creative, beautiful and delicious. In season, the soft-shelled crab is excellent. I have never considered it greasy (which indicates bad flavor) but yes, a number of the dishes are richly flavored!

Some have said it's over-priced, but compared to other restaurants in Evanston (which is a pricey suburb to start with) I think it is about on equal par, and really for 'appetizers' the portions are still big enough to share.

Downright delicious. Scrumptious, this is a splendid shindig. I enjoyed the calamari and the shrimp in garlic sauce. Excellent desserts, namely the sauteed banana with ice cream. Fun atmosphere, a tad bit overpriced
