Tavern is an establishment that has an owner that publicly abuses his staff on more than one occasion, through physical and sexual assault. It is disgusting. Most patrons turn a blind eye at what is going on with "the help". The A list Chicago judges, police officers, and celebrities that frequent the VIP, prevent any of the prior complaints from past employees from going anywhere. Most of the complaints are dismissed and the Servers who complain just get fired. Gross

I don't know about the bartenders, but the waiters are disdainful, not mentioning inattentive and slow. The restaurant's food is mediocre at best. I don't see why the people need to act so. Also if you are any race other than white, do not be surprised that you are hide away in the back.

By far the worst place to get a drink. The bartenders are so rude. One of the bartenders (Israel) ignored us for 10 minutes. I have visited this establishment twice and to no avail have been treated with such disdain it is ridiculous. Never again will i dine at Tavern on Rush

I would have to say that tavern on rush is the absolute worst place to go if you are looking for good food and friendly wait staff. Food is just mediocre and for the money i spent i expected alot more. The bartenders are rude,one in particluar i found to be quite offensive.

a whole crowd of happy people creates a relaxing, enjoyable atmosphere, and the waitresses are friendly and cute. can't comment on the food cause i just dropped in for a drink, but the margarita is one of the best in town.

The bartenders were full of themselves. After order drinks for 8 people, they still barely gave us the time of day. The waiters were indifferent. The food was pretty good but overall, not as good as other restaurants in the chain because of the attitude.

Although this restaurant is OK, I would recommend any of the other many great restaurants in the area first. The wait staff and managers seem to care less about their customers. The food is good sometimes, but usually very mediocre. For lunch, we are disappointed every time. Just recently, we ordered two meals to go and didn't get the french fries that were supposed to be included with our $13 sandwich, or the goat cheese that was supposed to be on our "spinach and goat cheese salad". We called when we got home and didn't even get an apology. Julian, the manager only said "The best I can do for you is buy you a drink next time you come in." Not that I expect much, but when you spend $40 on lunch, they should at least provide you with what you ordered. Everyone can make mistakes, but good restaurants will correct them.

I don't know what restaurant Tom and Fidel below visited because it couldn't of been Tavern on Rush. Tavern on Rush has some of the best service I have been to in a while! Also the food is out of this world. The bar is a huge hangout spot, and is one of the main spots for nightlife! This restaurants is also a huge celebrity hangout from sports players, actors/actresses, and singers. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED!

I always make it a point to visit here when I make the trek to Chicago. (I am from Grand Rapids, Michigan).
The service is always *excellent* and the food is to die for. It gets a bit crowded on the weekends, but most definitely it is worth the wait.
