This is an update to my original review of 7/5/07 where I gave the restaurant great reviews. I've been back now three times (2 for lunch and 1 for dinner). The service has been amazingly bad each time which is disappointing because the food is good. Although I did find that at dinner when the restaurant was full, the food really was not up to par. At dinner, the entries were delivered to half the table and then five minutes later to the other half. We had a bottle of wine and ordered another of the same. The waiter just poured the second bottle without letting us taste it. His response? Well you just had a bottle of the same!! I'm not sure I'm ever going back.

The food is excellent and the service was wonderful. They really go above and beyond to make you feel welcome starting at the door.

Wow! Had lunch at Trattoria Trullo yesterday (July 4th) and it was fantastic!! I'd like to keep this a well-guarded secret so it will be easy to get a seat. Portions are nicely "European sized" - not huge and the prices are really reasonable for the quality of the food. Homemade pasta is scrumptious and the olive oil on the table for dipping bread is fresh and savory. But the best part was the espresso - haven't had anything like it since I've been to Italy! Can't wait to go back to Trullo for more!!!

Delicious! We had lunch here yesterday and will be back many, many times. only saw the front portion of the restaurant, but it is very charming, spacious, and just an all-around nice place to be to munch on excellent Italian food and watch the goings-on in the Square. We ordered the cozze alla marinara (steamed mussels in DYNAMITE marinara -- Deli Dave, the super nice guy running the--you got it--deli, came over, saw that we had tons of broth left in the mussels bowl and so he came back a few minutes later with thick slices of crusty, fresh bread drizzled with olive oil so taht we could soak it up "just like we did in my grandmother's house." Awww -- and seriously YUM!), calamari (again, YUM!), insalata caprese (bufala mozzarella just to die for), and we shared the homemade cavatelli (the dab of gorgonzola and fresh tomatoes and herbs were amazing -- and the homemade pasta itself was perfect). It took us 2 hours to eat everything without bursting (that amount of food would have done 3 ppl nicely), and we still had to take home almost all of the pasta. But, of course, we had to have some Illy coffee, so we ordered Americanos, which came in those thick white cafe cups that I love so much and cream that has been warmed and poured into a tiny white pitcher. The serving staff was very attentive and friendly (many waitresses seem to be from Italy -- I heard quite a lot of Italian spoken), and the deli offerings/small retail area look superb. We will definitely be back!

Italian cooking is all about the seasons and the regions of Italy. The food is heavenly and Ossco Bucco never appears until there is a chill in the air. Always ask if there are any specials beyond what is announced. Watch what the locals are eating and if it isn't on the menu ask for it.

I love this place. My family is from Bari Italy and I really miss my mom's "from scratch" sauce that she made every year. Trattoria Trullo's menu has many of the foods and recipes I grew up with. I feel like I am enjoying my mom's home cooked meals here.

I always feel comfortable bringing my children and the waite staff is always attentive.

Some of the dishes I've tried which contain procuitto tend to be a bit too salty.

I've always enjoyed their desserts too.

The food was amazing! Cozy and small dining room. We even got a free loaf of bread to take home!
