Tsunami WAS the place to be seen by wanna- be sushi fans. It's more glitz than substance. Stick to Sai Cafe. Best sushi in town without the attitude and sticker shock.

You can't beat Tsunami. Their menu has everything for sushi lovers and haters alike, and their desserts are to die for! I had never tried sake before, but the owner was happy to tell me about the different sakes and recommend which flight to try. And I highly recommend the Sumo Roll as well and the oyster shooters! Yum yum. High quality food in a comfortable, pleasant environment - which is much appreciated in the neighborhood it is in! I will undoubtedly visit Tsunami again.

Thank you for keeping it real! My husband and I left Chicago 4 years ago with great memories of Tsunami. Now we have moved back and its better than ever!

I had a great experience there about a week ago, the service was prompt and food was great(this could be attributed to the fact that it was about 6 on a monday night) however, i enjoyed it and the prices were not bad at all, my california maki was $7, and seaweed salad was $5, not a bad meal.

I had a horrible dining experience at Tsunami. I didn't get to eat because we left before the food was served. You'll find better customer service at the DMV. It's too bad you can't get sushi there!

well. I had heard nothing but good about the place so I went on new years eve. waited a half hour for the waiter to acknowledge us, another 15 minutes for our drinks, and two hours for our dinner. After that, I got the manager, he immediately had a bad attitude.. I asked him how long we should be expected to wait for dinner and he answered "I dont know".. two hours for something that doesnt even need to be cooked! there were about five tables with people there that night so it was NOT busy by any means. Enentually I got mad and started to have attitude with the owner and he kicked me out.. so i left peacefully.. then he came chasing after me with the police and said i ran out on my bar tab. HE KICKED ME OUT!!! anyway.. a fun new years with a lot of bad excitement. dont go there. ever!

One of the best sushi places in Chicago. Tsunami offers amazing sushi encompassed within a fabulous ambiance. Definitely recommend it.
