From the reviews sounds like a bar for singles or couples not really a family joint. Not that id bring my kids to a place that serves smut and eggs. But hey raise your kids as you like. For me I cant wait to visit.

Love the one on Ogden, avoid the one on Clark. Here's why: I was just at the one on Clark tonight, and our dinner party consisted of no less than three cockroaches. At the table. This was in the dining area to the south of the bar area. I was leaning against that south wall (where the cool black and white pictures hang) when my dining partner said, "Look out for that spider." I ignored her, figuring she was drunk. But, later, when our appetizer and dinner showed up (together, but no big deal) I was into my third Hot Link when I saw a small cockroach skitter across the edge of the dish. Okay, no more appetite. I didn't make a scene, but really, that's all I had to see. So we asked for our bill. When the server asked why, we told him: roaches not really good for dining. He shrugged it off. I ran to the bathroom real quick and when I came back, my friend said she had not only pointed out the cockroaches on the wall to our server, she skewered one with a fork to show him. Again, he shrugged it off (said, "Gee, we spray three times a month.") and gave her the bill. Full charge. And he tried to charge us for soup that never came. Believe me, I was a fan of the Spoke, but not so much after tonight. They need to clean it up before I'd go back to the one on Clark.

I started going to the Spoke in 1997. I had been living in Chicago 4 years when they opened and would hit that place about once a month for late, very late, food. It was great then and it's probably just as great now. Any bad revues makes me just miss the place all the more and makes me eager to get back for a visit. New York is great, but it ain't Chicago! Keep it goin' on boys!

The food is yummy, the service is good & the bloody mary's are the best. Try smut & eggs one night, it's quite fun.

Having been to the Twisted Spoke twice, I feel that I can make a fairly educated review. First, the food in substandard and awful. The only good thing I can say about the quality and taste is in regard to the barbeque sauce which was good and taste like Sweet Baby Ray's. My daughters were with me and we each had a different entree and all agreed we would never go back. The service was horrible and we had to actually call our waitress over twice and then she screwed up the bill which took another 20 minutes or so to correct. The asmosphere is cute at first but once you have had the chnace to sit around a critique, its awful too! All in all, we each had leftover food and did not take to go. Pretty bad!

My girlfriend and I really enjoyed ourselves. She sloshed down some fancy mixed drinks and I stuck with diet soda, (which seemed very fresh). We met a nice couple and my grilfriend walked out the door and fell down on the sidewalk. We were brought in by a nice guy named Tim. Keep on truckin!!
