dp: great little course. front nine is more of a position nine. back nine you let it fly. renovations recently improved trap play, but destroyed the par 5 12th. conditions are poor especially from the city of lake forest. fairways & greens are never cross cut. drainage & over watering a big problem. best time to play is april or october when the course is firm. this course is still a gem if conditions improve, really improve!

golfers who think that Deerpath is easy because it is short are often suprised to find that the narrow fairways and well trapped greens pose quite a challenge. 2005 improvements have made the course even more beautiful and challenging. It's amazing how well kept the course is in light of the constant flow of golfers.

This course is always crowded, so of course it will not be in the best shape. It is a good course for a wide variety of players, and the recent 2 million dollar renovations make it much more challenging.

The fariways are hard and thin, the greens are in Horrible shape. The young lake forest residents who care about nothing but the 6 figures daddy brings home never repair their ball marks and the greens look like craters from the moon. Way over priced for the condition of the course. On the upside, these same spoiled rich kids never attempt to find wayward shots, so it's not uncommon to find brand new 40.00 a dozen golf balls sitting 5 feet off the fairway.

Greens have been overly airated and still have some indentations. With all of the rain lately..should be perfect conditions by May 29th or so.
