All that you've heard about this place is true. There is an experience to be had in every moment you are there. The music, and atmosphere are unmatched in this city. Lonny Walker is what Japlin could have been. She has amazing people playing in her Big Ass Company Band. They will get in to your head. Also check out the Long Room on Sunday night for Nicholas Barron and the Associates.

An absolutely TOP place!!! me and a friend were in chicago dying from the heat and sought out this very chilled place. Friendly staff tapping fingers and pouring drinks to some seriously wicked music!!!! A diamond of a place.

I've been coming to the Underground for as long as I can remember, in fact, since before I should have been going to the bars. It's always been one of my favorite live music clubs in the world, bar none. It's definitely underground physically, and because it's kind of a hidden gem of the City's music scene, it's just barely under or above ground in that way. The scene is its own, but also has that narrow, long feel of B.L.U.E.S., and that underground feeling of our long, lost Jazz Bulls, in Lincoln Park. It's dark, a tad smokey, sweaty but comfy, snuggly with a deep groove to settle you in quickly for the night. Lonie's a dear, truly welcomes everyone, is personable, and she and her staff treat guests like their friends. The music's always great. This is one killer place to wind down an evening on a date, or with a few friends. Cool, albeit bizarre feature -- you have to walk through the middle of the band to go to the bathroom.
