We visit Chicago from Indianapolis at least once a year and no visit would be complete without a dinner at the West Town Tavern. We have been following Drew and Susan for years, from Something Different in Indy to, first, Zinfandel to West Town Tavern in Chicago and the quality and imagination of their offerings has continued to be at the highest level. We just love the food , the ambience, and the wine selection and continue to recommend West Town Tavern to all our friends.

Fantastic food in an elegant but relaxed setting. Creative specials and excellent small menu makes this one of my favorite restaurants. Their pot roast is much better than my mother or my husband's mother ever made! American food at its best by an extremely talented chef and her equally talented husband. Neighborhood folks stop in for a meal seated at the bar, friendly knowledgeable staff, parties celebrate at the tables and everyone has a good time. Good for a special occasion or just an excellent meal. Can't say enough good about this place.

I've check this place out twice, the first for just dinner and the second was to check out the famed fried chicken monday night. I was more impressed with the food the first time....the beer cheese ball was good, but the pork chops and chicken were to die for. They came out steaming and tasted fantastic. The second visit was okay. The famed fried chicken....was alright, but very hyped....I expected better. I recommend the regular menu, and not the monday night special.

West Town Tavern is a hidden gem. The ambiance is both warm and sophisticated. The bartender was very knowledgable and she recommended great wine for us. The cuisine was original and delicious. Try the calamari to start! Service was impeccable too. You've got to try this place if you have not already!

The West Town Tavern is one of Chicago's best. It combines great quality and interesting dishes at prices which are affordable. If you want a first-class, high quality meal, and don't feel like paying an arm and a leg, this medium-priced local is the place togo. I couldn't reccomend it more.
