My wife and I live in South Loop and this palace is a treasure. We go there at least once a week, mainly for breakfast on Sat but anytime it offers great food, cheap and interesting company including undercover cops, fire fighters and late night theater goers.

Was there with 4 other people after a Thursday night concert at the United Center. Certainly not up to a visit on a vacation. If you are in the area or need a meal during the night - fine. It's got a feel to it, but foodwise - not the best. A few steps above cafeteria food. Meatloaf and gravy was very unappetizing looking and blah. Poached eggs were overcooked. Nothing was very hot. There are plenty of suburban places that serve steaming hot, juicy and/or greasy, whatever the food should be, and they will never reach even a local news review. Give your favorite local place the business - the grass isn't always greener on the otherside.

i called six times to place an order, they kept just hanging up the phone without saying anything, and the crow is not diverse at all like diners and drives

Many years ago when working down the street on Jefferson ST and after a tough night out, THIS WAS THE PLACE TO GO. Get yourself 2 bacon and eggs sandwiches and you will function allday. Best part the hangover was gone. Oh to be 30 again. Enjoy.

Haven't been there yet. Must be great. They made it on the Food Channel's "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives". Guy, the host and renowned chef enjoyed his visit.

I have been in the city for 9 monthes and have already lost count of my number of visits to White Palace. The food has never been bad, service is stupendous, and the prices are great.

they suck! the waitresses had a bad attitude problem....the service was bad....and they can't provide separate checks "on the weekends"....my party one can went in there one day and no one asked us for our order...due to a misunderstanding of their "no seperate checks" policy, which is not posted anywhere.....i wouldn't advise anyone to go there!!!!!

I am a regular at the white palace grill a chicago institution since 1939. The food is good and the staff is friendly, Hats off to the owner who refused to sell to the developers.

ever since it became renovated, it lost its touch and quality of food, I don't go there anymore
