This place is really a great spot! Dog friendly, really great beer specials(especially for a lincoln park spot!) all around totally chill. They have live music on Fridays which can be hit or miss but is always a welcomed change from the top 40 hits at the other bars if you ask me. On Sundays for football they even have FREE all you can eat bacon baskets and full meals at bears game start! None of the other bars in the area can boast that!

Comparatively speaking, this bar is nothing like the other bars on lincoln avenue.
For some reason, when me and my friends go here, we have an awesome time. I think its because we were so used to overpriced and overpacked bars across the street.
It's never packed like sardines, so I dont feel annoyed.
I never see little Depaul Freshman, the crowd is definitely 24-30.
Live music is usually at the least fun and a different experience than the regular lincoln park scene. I have seen a couple awesome cover bands.
They have a beer called purple haze, i have never had it till i went there, its awesome.
I actually met the owner, and his dog, which is a Mastiff, he bought me my first beer (the owner not the mastiff, lol).
This bar quickly became the spot where me and my friends call our "Home" bar, then branch off into the night after we start there. Sometimes, ending there too.
Oh, and if you want to play bags on a Friday or Saturday afternoon, they set it up inside, and there is some pretty good competition (including us).
Try it out.

I had a blast there...great bands, great crowd. My only complaint...the two bars have different prices (or made up ones anyway)...I'd bring cash and not open a tab there.

This place is horrible. It has no identity and falls woefully short of being every bar for everybody. The live bands display little talent. The D.J.'s are even worse. And the staff, let's just say they should institute a pre-shift squat thrust program, and perhaps a little age discrimination.

What a joke! Been there May 2,2008. One side of the bar charges $6 for drinks and at other end of the bar a dollar more! If your friends of the band, you may enjoy the show. If your not, you may want to move on. I highly recommend DO NOT TO GO TO WISE FOOLS PUB. You'll never know if the bartenders are ripping you off or trying to make an extra buck in their pocket.

I stumbled into Wise fools Pub about six months ago and was blown away by the live performances they booked that night. That night started off with some alright cover band and then a Band called "Otis". Talk about talent! You got to check Otis out!!!

As the sun was setting "Stars" were rising as Wise Fool's Pub hosted Second City Singer/Songwriter night with Special Guest, Joe Taylor. This spry young shooting star's soulful sound beckons you to take notice as he guides you through a sentimental journey of "Life", track from 'Try' cd. Joe's ambient energy everpresent, while performing along with his very spirited twelve-string guitar will have your foot tapping as you guzzle down your next beer with happiness and contentment inspiring you to then sing along to a cover classic. Joe's ability to captivate the crowd by belting out resonating melodic harmonies ensures he's well on his way to success as enthusiastic Wise Fool's Pub goer's would agree by demanding encore after encore. Both Wise Fool's Pub owners and sound sytem are "impeccable" and have housed acts undeniably equal in nature such as Son Seals and Stevie Ray Vaughan. This evening however truly belonged to the prolific rising talent of Joe Taylor as he soared fervently amongst the highest of shooting stars. I can't WAIT to hit Wise Fools on Saturday, March 11th. My favorite Pearl Jam cover band - Alive - is going to be playing again that night! Had an awesome time back in November when they last played at the Pub!!!!!

We live in Rockford but love to come to the Wise Fools Pub. We show up and are treated like are royalty. The owners are always present and full of fun. The bartenders are quick with your drinks. The servers are great as well, they are prompt in getting you your drinks so you don't have to miss the band or loose your spot by the stage. Thanks for the good times wise fools
