Do not go to this place, there are so nicer places to go around this nice location, your possibility of hitting an arrogant waitress who would not even bother talking to you is so high, it is not worth your money.

My husband and I have been going to Blue Agave for over 6 years on weekly basis! So all you out of towners who are not pleased with service and insecure women etc... please don't go and don't overpopulate this LOCAL place, because the wait on fridays can be about 40 minutes or so... The margaritas are by far the best I ever had anywhere in the world. Chicken "chichenitza" is so good, you'll never eat at another mexican place. Food is hot fresh and sizling on your plate. Chips and salsa just keep coming at their best quality. Food and checks come very fast if not too fast. And maybe if customers come in with just a little bit less of an attitude, the staff (who are live people with feelings too, you know) would treat you better. Viva Agave!

Drink are great! I would agree some of the staff has attitude. Food is ok. The customers that come in are hot ( esp the Mercedes Benz guys that come there often!)

I usually frequent this place weekly. However, I will not ever go back. I was sitting at the bar with a pony hair hand bag, and had a note placed in my bag on receipt tape from the restraunt telling me that I was stupid for wearing fur. (i.e. the bag) I think it is rediculous to impose your "political/social" views on your customers. Customers, the reason to be in business in the first place!!!

BAd Bad BAd service at the bar--bartender looked like she had an attitude, didnt return our change and barely paid attention to us..food was just okay--drinks good but for the bad service I wouldl go elsewhere

BEST MARGARITAS EVER! I like the Horni Margarita and my husband likes the Top Shelf, but no matter which you order, you'll be pleased! We always order the enchilada plate and split it. Good food, great salsa and incredible Queso Fundido (if you don't mind a little bit of grease). The bar area is fun at happy hour, late on the weekends, or on Cinco de Mayo. We're huge fans and recommend Blue Agave without hesitation!

We live just around the corner and have enjoyed the food and drinks for the last 3 years. No fancy, but the food is good and we have never had problems. Also has a nice bar area with several TVs - this is where we watched the first game of the 2005 World Series, had a few beers and the adobo pork enchilada - not on the menu, but available!

Appetizers were great with friendly service. Then my sister-in-law ordered the chicken enchilada. It tasted fine but in the morning she was so sick she had to be rushed to the hospital. She was in the ICU for 3 days with IVs in her arms and my nice sobbing at her bedside. The restaurant won't take our calls and our family lawyer said it would be a tough case. We have called the health dept. in Chicago. So you can check with them. Next time they stay in Chicago they will not be eating at this restaurant. No one without a death wish and good insurance would.

The food was fair but the service was horrible we sat at the bar and our bartender had a really bad attitude. she seemed to be to busy flirting with my boyfriend then getting our drinks.
