One of the great things about Blue Frog is that they dont let people boo you so folks new to karaoke dont feel intimidated. The host even tells the crowd this several times. She even uses the phrase "even if its your best friend singing, even if you think your HILARIOUS, there is no booing. you will get cut off and asked to leave" I've been to lots of karaoke bars and the thing I hate most is when people heckle the singers. The Blue Frogs no booing policy is a welcome change that usually helps get everyone into the experience. To bad the last guy didn't get that.

This bar is OK, but it depends on the workers. I had a friend that was there for a going-away party. We were singing and having a good time. Then after several hours, the bartender got up to sing and this guy boo'ed him . . . to be funny, not mean or disrepectful. But the DJ took it personally. I have no idea why. She made such a big scene out of this . . . it was nuts. What a waste of a night. Don't go here if you have a sense of humor!!!! seriously!!!!

A little sleazy and quite small, but this is a great place to karaoke! Would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Great drinks, nice bar staff, super cheap food. Interesting atmosphere...love the karaoke and they dont have a cover bu tyou do have to order at least two drinks...but thats no problem at these prices! The karaoke lady (Mary i think) is totally insane...gotta love it. Total jewl hidden downtown...check it out at least once.

Wandered in for karaoke, left drunk and feeling like a regular! Great karoake host, great bartenders, and great pours! Tough, funny folks who apparently love Patrick Swayze.

While this is a great place to drink by all typical standards, there is an extra little spark in the Blue Frog that is hard to put your finger on. We've been going here every few weeks since we discovered it, and every time I bring someone new, they have a great time for reasons they can't completely put into words. The games a funny, but most people I know go for the Karaoke. The drinkers always seem to be supportive, friendly, and crazy- resulting in a party atmosphere where the whole bar has fun like it's one big group of friends. Oh yeah, and the bathroom stalls have shower curtains. Ha!

I made my way to the Blue Frog last September (2005) to shake off the day-time accounting conference blahs. At 50 years old, I was the oldest singer there. But, oh, what a rush to get "high-fived" by all the hotties as I came off the stage! I was there for three hours and got to sing just two songs, so it's obvious that the regulars get preferential treatment. But in some ways, that seem fair. The nice thing about the Blue Frog is that it's fairly close to all the downtown hotels. And if you're not looking for it, you'll miss it. But it was indeed a BLAST!! Just don't tell my wife or my pastor. OK?

GREAT LITTLE BAR My wife and I have enjoyed the lively karaoke many times and I finally got up the nerve to lose my karaoke virginity. The crowd was very kind and made my first experience a memorable one. It is a regular stop for us now when we are in the Windy City.

A change of pace from regular bar scene. This place encourages you to act like a little kid. The staff is great, they do a good jobs with the drinks and the food. There are board games of all kinds located throughout the bar, and they also have Karaoke 4 nights a week. The crowd is very friendly which is alwaya a nice plus, and something you don't find at most other bars.

GREAT TIME! Came in early and had a great time with on and off duty bartenders, then stayed for karaoke. Good prices and would go in just to hang with the bartenders who tell funny jokes and remembered my drinks.
