Must agree with the comments about the staff - lots of bad attitude. Love the food and the atmosphere of the room.

You know, I REALLY wanted to fall for this place, especially because I live nearby. I heard the hype and was ready for a great experience. The food was up to par (great), but I was not able to enjoy myself, because the staff was over-the-top. I am being nice...and not specific enough, so let me rephrase: Snotty.

My husband and I walked in without reservations on a wintery Wednesday evening. When we asked for a table, the host was visibly appalled when he learned we did not have reservations. He then made a big deal of it, slowly perusing the table chart for vacancies. We were standing there for a full minute of "hmmm" and "well" before he handed the menus off to his sidekick, who proceeded to walk us into a room full of open tables. Many of these tables remained empty during our stay.

This posting could get too long, so I'll just say that the waiter was just as pretentious...and very unattentive. The only reason I left a tip at all was to compensate the bus boy who was always available and willing.

It was hard to digest the whole experience and even harder to hear the restaurant praised. As much as I enjoy food, I would much rather enjoy myself. I will never return to Spring.
