We visited the place for first time this Sunday, honestly the service was terrible we waited too long. Finally the food arrived ..the monsuman curry chicken had too much salt and the yellow curry had a very strong vanilla flavor! (what??) - we only receive a glass of water and honestly around the area you can find better options specifically along western and division - I agree with AF

Food is so-so. Service is terrible. Never again. Too many other better places to go. Try Thai Village instead.

We've been going to Thai Lagoon for years, though the up-to-date decor and the young crowd would make you think it's just opened. The food is superb; both the standard Thai favorites-- pad thai, tom yum, etc, and the more exotic and surprising entrees. The soups are wonderful, the sushi, on the days they have it, is slow to get but you can see why-- you can watch the sushi chef painstakingly making each piece-- and when you get it, you forgive the wait. The staff is unfailingly polite, friendly, and experienced. It's BYO so if you like it spicy, don't forget to stop at the bodega a block east and pick up a malt beverage or 8. Prices, by the way, are too low to quote.

Thai Lagoon is my favorite Thai restaurant in Chicago. The food is fantastic and the prices are just as great. Every new friend I have introduced to Thai Lagoon loves it the same, and agrees that the food cannot be beaten. The staff is extremely friendly as well.
